Oops… keep your head!

I am Sara Novelli, born in Genoa, where I live and work.

Graduated in archaeology, I worked 12 years in an Ethnological Museum and travelled all over the world. I developed a big passion for textiles and have attended
weaving courses in Accademia di Belle Arti in Genoa and
photography courses.

The archaeological excavation has become a soul
searching.

My work is based on a first period “Pensiero Acefalo”, the realization of an oneiric experience resulting in the creation of anthropomorphic and asexual beings without head, hands
and feet, placed on different types of textiles.

My acephalous’ thought is the synthesis of our time… a time
where mind, reason and money are the winners.

It’s necessary to start feeling again.

The mind is less
important than emotions. Hence the head can disappear.
Our body has an ancient memory and conserves the present and the past in our womb.

If we put our hand on the womb, we can perceive visible
and invisible things.
It’s a shamanic act.
In the last period I got closer to digital art and photography.
I exhibited my works in Italy and abroad.
